A new end-of-life tire treatment plant was inaugurated in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, developed thanks to the partnership between Gruppo Maio and Tarheel Collecting Wastes Llc, a leading company in the country for the treatment of end-of-life tires. The event was held in the presence of the General Manager of the Abu Dhabi Center of Waste Management, H.E. Dr. Salem Al Kaabi.
The plant, built at the Al Dhafra landfill, built entirely by the strategic partner Forrec, will be managed by BLEU Middle East, a subsidiary of Gruppo Maio, and will have the task of treating, in the first step, a batch of 300,000 tons of tires already stored; subsequently, in ordinary management, 30,000 tons per year of ELTs.

This is also evidence of the Company’s significant commitment in the field of integrated management within the waste supply chain, which we have been dealing with for about 40 years. We will work also in this country to keep economic sustainability together with environmental and social sustainability. We will certainly bring the Italian experience in environmental management”.
